Adelante GED

AAMA Adelante offers GED courses at all four locations in English and Spanish to individuals wishing to obtain the equivalent to a high school diploma. Students will be academically tutored for the GED exam in the areas of Language Arts-Writing, Social Studies, Science, Language Arts-Reading and Mathematics. GED tests are designed to measure major academic skills and knowledge in core content areas normally learned during four years of high school.

Most major colleges and universities in and outside the Houston area provide testing.  A standard test is the score earned on each test, to pass the test and obtain the diploma; the minimum passing standard score is 410 on each test and an average score of 450 on each of the five test batteries.   Students seeking job placement or promotion achieve personal goals or pursue higher education will benefit greatly from this program.

From the Wayside branch, GED classes in both Spanish and English are offered daily Monday-Thursday from 9:00-1:00, 1:30 to 1:30 and 6:00-9:00 p.m. From Quitman, Spanish GED is offered daily from 9:00-1:00 and 6:00-9:00 p.m. From Cavalcade Spanish GED is offered daily from 9:00-1:00 and 6:00-9:00 p.m. and from Galena Park Spanish GED is offered daily from Monday-Thursday from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Pre-GED and GED courses are available at all four locations.
