The English as a Second Language Program (ESL) at George I. Sanchez currently serves over 200 immigrant students whose first language is a language other than English. This dual-language program, taught both in English and Spanish, contains two levels of development, beginning and intermediate. The goals of the program are to help students acquire classroom English as rapidly as possible, to prepare students for the plethora of state and local assessments, and to provide all English language learners with a foundation for success and stability.
